Terms & Consent

By taking part — sending a postcard or submitting online — you give Leon permission to read, record and share your message on the Hindsight with Leon podcast, website and social channels. You keep ownership of your words. We only use a first name and/or a town and country (or keep you anonymous), never your full personal details. You can ask us to remove your submission at any time.
1Who we are
Hindsight with Leon is a podcast hosted by Leon, a child, and produced by his parents. All post, accounts, uploads and contact are handled by a grown-up.
2What you're agreeing to
When you submit a message — by posting a postcard or sending it to us online — you give us permission to:
- read your message aloud, and record and edit that reading;
- broadcast, publish, reproduce and share it — as audio, text, and short video clips — on the podcast, our website, and our social media channels;
- keep it as part of the show's archive.
This permission is worldwide, royalty-free and ongoing, so that episodes already published can stay available.
3Being recorded or filmed
Reading your written message is covered by section 2. If you take part in a way that records you — your voice, image or likeness (for example a voice note, an interview, or being filmed at an event) — we will ask for your explicit consent first, using a separate consent/release form. For anyone under 18, a parent or guardian must give that consent on their behalf.
4Your words stay yours
You keep the copyright in whatever you write or say. You're simply giving us a licence to use it as described above. Please only submit words that are your own.
5What we show
We'll credit you by first name and/or the town and country you're writing from — or keep you anonymous if you prefer. We will not publish your full name, address, email or other identifying details. Please don't include sensitive personal information in your message.
6Children & young people
Contributors should be 16 or older. If you are under 18, please take part with a parent or guardian's permission. If you are a child, ask a grown-up to help you and to give consent on your behalf. We will never publish anything that identifies a child.
7Your data & privacy
We only collect what you send us: your message, and (on a postcard) any details needed to handle the mail. We store it securely, use it only to make the show, and never sell it. Under UK data-protection law you can ask us what we hold, or ask us to correct or delete it — just get in touch.
8Withdrawing your consent
Changed your mind? Email us and we'll remove your submission from anything we control going forward. Please note we can't recall episodes that listeners have already downloaded.
9No payment
Taking part is voluntary and unpaid, and we can't promise that every message will be used.
10Handled by a grown-up
A parent or guardian opens all post, manages all accounts and uploads, and handles all contact for the show.
11Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The latest version will always live on this page.
